Job summary

NexusTek is seeking a Network and System Architect (Travel Engineer) to design and deploy IT infrastructure for hospitality clients across the US. This role requires extensive travel and on-site work at hotel and resort locations.

You will manage system design, network provisioning, server setup, and deployment of PMS/POS and other hotel applications, while ensuring security and high availability. Central US focus preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience designing end-to-end IT infrastructure for hospitality environments.
• Ability to travel extensively and manage on-site implementations.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD, DNS/DHCP, and network security.
• Proficiency with PMS, POS, IPTV, and building management systems.

Working hours

Typical working hours are M-F 8am – 5pm local time, after hours as needed to accommodate the client.

They also participate in a rotating on-call schedule (holidays).

Location requirements

Central, US preferred.

Must be located within an hour of a major airport.

At least 75% travel throughout much of the US by plane or driving depending on the distance.

You know how to:

• Microsoft Server & Desktop Environments : Proficiency in Windows Server (2012–2022) and Windows 10/11, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and DNS/DHCP management.
• Networking Expertise : Experience with Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, and firewall configurations. Familiarity with HP or Cisco switches and wireless access points (WAPs).
• Cloud & Virtualization : Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Intune, and VMware/Hyper‑V virtualization platforms.
• Hotel Systems Integration : Knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) like Opera, Point of Sale (POS) systems, IPTV, telephony (PABX), and key card systems.
• Security & Compliance : Understanding of PCI DSS standards, endpoint security tools (RMM, MDR), and antivirus solutions.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery : Experience with backup solutions such as Datto, Veeam, or similar, and familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Technical Documentation : Ability to create detailed network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures using tools like Microsoft Visio.
• Telephony & Unified Communications : Experience with VoIP systems, including configuration and troubleshooting of VLANs, QoS, and SIP protocols.
• Hardware & Peripheral Support : Proficiency in setting up and maintaining hardware such as servers, workstations, printers, UPS units, and IP KVM switches.
• Certifications & Training : Relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or ITIL Foundations are highly desirable.

Pay and Benefits:

This is a full‑time position located in the United States and performed on‑site with travel.

Estimated Starting Salary/Wage Range: $80,000.00+ annually, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi‑monthly basis (The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure [for existing employees] skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role. Note that the majority of individuals in the position will fall in the low to mid‑level of this scale; the upper end of this pay scale is offered only in exceptional circumstances and/or for unusually qualified candidates.)
