Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Administrator IV to lead and support enterprise networks, ensuring stability, performance, security, and reliability across complex environments.

The role requires expertise in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, SD-WAN, fiber optics, wireless LAN/WAN, firewalls, and network monitoring. You will guide TDM-to-IP migrations and collaborate across network initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant network experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.
• Experience with TDM-to-IP migrations and modern IP-based networking.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise network environments to ensure reliable and efficient network operations.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Support Cisco, Juniper, and similar enterprise networking technologies.
• Support TDM-to-IP migrations and modernization of IP-based network infrastructure.
• Implement and support SD-WAN, fiber optic, and wireless LAN/WAN technologies.
• Support network security technologies including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar platforms.
• Read, interpret, and maintain network diagrams and schematics.
• Perform fiber testing using tools such as OTDR.
• Troubleshoot network issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Collaborate with technical teams and provide leadership and guidance on network initiatives.

The administrator will also support TDM-to-IP migrations, interpret network diagrams and schematics, perform fiber testing, and provide technical leadership and collaboration across network initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience based on the following: Master’s degree with 6+ years, Associate’s degree with 10+ years, or high school diploma with 12+ years.
• Proven experience managing and supporting enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking technologies.
• Experience with TDM-to-IP migrations and modern IP-based networking.
• Solid understanding of SD-WAN, fiber optics, and wireless LAN/WAN technologies.
• Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Nagios.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and schematics.
• Experience with fiber testing tools such as OTDR.
• Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting FAA or National Airspace System (NAS) environments.
• Knowledge of federal network standards, compliance requirements, and security frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA/JNCIS, or BICSI.
• Familiarity with FAA NextGen or air traffic control modernization initiatives.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or transformation programs.
