Job summary

WCID17 is seeking an experienced IT / Network Administrator to maintain and support daily operations of reliable network and wireless systems across district facilities in Austin, Texas. You will ensure connectivity and security while coordinating with internal teams and external vendors.

Reporting to the IT / SCADA Supervisor, you will perform diagnostics, optimize bandwidth, manage inventory, and enforce policies in a non-supervisory role with opportunities to affect critical infrastructure

Qualifications

• Two years of education from an accredited college or university in a field related to the job plus two years of related experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to two years.

Responsibilities

• Tests, configures, and maintains network, telephony, and wireless hardware and software.
• Performs routine diagnostics and testing to resolve network issues promptly.
• Conducts health checks, optimizes bandwidth, and assists with cost analyses.
• Enforces network security protocols and organizational policies.
• Contributes to disaster recovery definitions and system retirement strategies.
• Coordinates with departments to schedule network installations and updates.
• Monitors vendor deliverables against SLAs and manages hardware inventory.
