Job summary

SMS Data Products Group, Inc. is seeking a senior NOSC IT specialist to support live networks and systems for AFCENT’s 24/7 operations in the Sumter, SC area.

You will administer, monitor, and secure NOSC environments, perform backups, and coordinate deployments with cross-functional teams. The role requires a Secret clearance, strong Windows/Linux expertise, and hands-on experience with STIGs, DNS/DHCP, and high-availability infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in related field and 5 or more years’ relevant experience Or 7 or more years’ relevant experience.
  • Firewall experience.
  • Experience with Windows Server installation in Host/Compute Environments and server images.
  • Storage solutions, high availability, DNS, DHCP, and remote access concepts.
  • Unix/Linux, Network+ or CCNA, ITIL Foundation.
  • Active Secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide admin, installation, operation, and maintenance support for NOSC networks.
  • Monitor security posture, STIG compliance, patching, and end-point protection.
  • Remediate issues to maintain STIG compliance and security.
  • Maintain server room, cable management, and cleanliness.
  • Engineer and maintain network architecture, diagrams, and rack elevations.
  • Monitor NOSC status and remediate outages per NOSC policies.
  • Coordinate ASIs for maintenance and manage NOSC spare parts.
  • Data backup and recovery for servers and applications.
  • Respond to incidents and provide NOSC network desktop support.
  • Manage cloud mail accounts and user accounts.
  • Coordinate equipment inventories and disposition per guidelines.
  • Configure and maintain encryption devices.
  • Participate in NOSC domain/network technology rollouts.

AFCENT’s mission is to deliver combat-ready air, space, communications, and cyberspace capability for USCENTCOM, helping maintain security and stability throughout Southwest Asia. Job Responsibilities
  • Provide administration, installation, operation, and maintenance support on applications, systems, and infrastructure equipment supporting all the NOSC networks.
  • Monitor the security posture (STIG compliance, patching, vulnerability mitigation, and end-point protection compliancy) of the NOSC networks devices and systems.
  • Execute remediation actions to ensure proper STIG compliance, patching, vulnerability mitigation, and end-point protection compliancy of NOSC networks devices and systems.
  • Maintain server room including enforcing and monitoring equipment installations, proper cable maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Engineer and maintain network layer architecture and systems design to include architecture diagrams and rack elevation drawings.
  • Monitor NOSC network and systems status using NOSC standard network management platforms and remediate outages and events, as required.
  • Coordinate ASIs for any scheduled maintenance and maintain updates of all spare parts and components of the NOSC domain.
  • Conduct and monitor data backup and recovery for servers and applications.
  • Respond and resolve tickets and incidents in accordance with local NOSC policies and procedures.
  • Provide desktop/client support for NOSC networks to include desktop imaging, hardware/software troubleshooting, and peripheral installation and support.
  • Create and maintain standard and elevated user accounts to include cloud mail accounts.
  • Coordinate with and assist equipment custodian to complete equipment inventories, prepare equipment for disposition and disposal via DLA and DRMO procedures and guidelines.
  • Control, safeguard, configure, and provide touch maintenance of encryption devices.
  • Participate in new technology rollouts on the NOSC domain/networks.
Required Qualifications

  • Firewall experience
  • Conduct framing of pleadings to properly identify alleged violations of law, regulations, or policy/guidance.
  • Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments, and Windows Server using server images.
  • Experience with implementation of storage solutions, high availability, Domain Name Systems (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), network connectivity and remote access solutions, core and distributed network solutions, advance network infrastructure, and maintain and monitor server environments.
  • Unix/Linux, Network+ or CCNA, VCTA
  • ITIL Foundation (candidate has up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification)
  • Active Secret level clearance
