Job summary

UniSea, Inc. is seeking a Temporary Network Administrator to support and maintain networking systems across our Redmond, WA and Dutch Harbor, AK operations.

The position is a limited-term assignment ending in September 2028, focusing on reliable network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate holds an associate degree or higher in computer science or information services, with CCNA or equivalent certification preferred, and 3–5 years of related IT

Qualifications

• Ability to evaluate hardware and software issues and identify solutions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and support UniSea’s wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Serve as primary escalation point for network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues.
• Maintain accurate network infrastructure documentation.
• Research and recommend improvements to network reliability, security, and bandwidth utilization.
• Support network design, maintenance, and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
• Maintain communication systems, including telephone equipment.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance with vendors.
• Assist employees with IT issues.
• Participate in IT projects and related duties.

Job description

UniSea is seeking a Temporary Network Administrator to support and maintain networking systems across our operations in Redmond, WA and Dutch Harbor, AK. This position will be filled for a limited term and is expected to end in September 2028.

The Network Administrator will maintain reliable and secure network infrastructure, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and install, configure, and maintain network systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and support UniSea’s wired and wireless network infrastructure.
• Serve as a primary escalation point for network infrastructure issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues.
• Maintain accurate network infrastructure documentation.
• Research and recommend improvements to network reliability, security, and bandwidth utilization.
• Support network design, maintenance, and ongoing infrastructure improvements.
• Maintain communication systems, including telephone and related equipment.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with vendors as needed.
• Assist employees with IT related issues as necessary.
• Participate in IT projects and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Training:

• Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Services, or a related field required.
• CCNA certification or equivalent certification/work experience preferred.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 3–5 years of related IT experience, with significant experience in network administration.
• Strong network troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate hardware and software issues and identify appropriate solutions.
• Strong organizational and project planning skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other departments, vendors, and the IT team.

Working Conditions

• Position is primarily based in Redmond, WA.
• Typical office working environment.
• Travel to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, may be required as needed.
• Salary Range: $80,985–$99,000 annually, DOE
• This is a full-time, salaried non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay.
• Medical/Dental/Vision insurance available after eligibility period is satisfied.
