Job summary

Oceans Healthcare is seeking a Network Administrator to maintain and secure our clinical and administrative networks. You will manage network hardware, software, and configurations, implement robust disaster recovery, and protect data, systems, and users across facilities.

Ideal candidates have a solid IT background, hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, VOIP systems like RingCentral/Zoom, SD-WAN, and UniFi access points.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field with network focus.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure; experience with routing and switching, Fortinet firewalls, RingCentral/Zoom VOIP, SD-WAN, and UniFi WAP.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and administers computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Performs disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
  • Protects data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  • Replaces faulty network hardware components when required.
  • Maintains, configures, and monitors virus protection software and email applications.
  • Monitors network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made; confers with network users about solving existing system problems.
  • Operates master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systems; coordinates computer network access and use.
  • Designs, configuring and tests networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software; documents network infrastructure.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining and administering the company's computer networks. This position is responsible for maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. The Network Administrator works closely with the users of the company's network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

Requirements
Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, related field of study with a network engineering focus or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. Experience with the following: Routing and Switching, Fortinet Firewalls, VOIP (Ring Central and Zoom), SDWAN, WAP(Ubiquiti).
Skills / Abilities:
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
  • Self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
Work Environment:

Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. This person might sometimes experience disagreeable odors, sights, and/or unpredictable patient behavior. Work requires spending approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. May be required to travel.
