We find the manual work slowing teams down, rebuild it as automations inside tools clients already own, and run them. For finance teams that means building inside the client's existing ERP, whether NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero or Sage, and never replacing it.
The role
You are the forward-deployed builder for clients who run NetSuite. You take a scoped, priced workflow, such as a close task, an AP approval chain or an intercompany check, and build it inside the client's account with an audit trail and a human approval gate. You work with a Workflow Consultant who owns the roadmap and with builders handling the tools around the ERP.
What you will do
- Build SuiteScript 2.x customizations: user event, client, scheduled, map/reduce, Suitelet and RESTlet scripts.
- Automate month-end close work: reconciliations, accrual confirmations, intercompany matching and exception reports.
- Build AP and AR flows covering invoice intake, approval routing and payment runs, with no manual re-keying.
- Design approval workflows in SuiteFlow, including one-click sign-off surfaced in Slack or email.
- Integrate NetSuite with Stripe, Ramp, Bill.com, Salesforce, HubSpot and Airtable through REST web services, RESTlets and SuiteQL, directly or through Make, Zapier and n8n.
- Build saved searches, SuiteQL datasets and dashboards that feed board reporting from live numbers.
- Write a log for every automated step: source entry, transformation, approver, timestamp.
- Work inside client-owned accounts under scoped roles and token-based access. Client financial data stays in client systems.
- Deploy through sandbox and SDF with version control, tests and a rollback path.
- After go-live, monitor runs, handle exceptions, and retest against NetSuite's twice-yearly releases.
- Measure hours saved per workflow against the pre-build baseline.
What you bring
- 8 years of NetSuite development with SuiteScript 2.x in production.
- Fluency in SuiteFlow, SuiteQL, saved searches, SuiteTalk REST and SDF.
- Working accounting knowledge: GL, AP, AR, accruals, close, and multi-subsidiary and intercompany work in OneWorld.
- Integration experience with OAuth 2.0 or token-based authentication, built with governance limits in mind.
- Discipline on roles and permissions, and an auditor-ready approach to change.
- Clear written communication with controllers and finance leads.
- Ability to run a scoped project without supervision.
Nice to have
- NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer or Administrator certification.
- QuickBooks, Xero or Sage experience, including migrations into NetSuite.
- Advanced Revenue Management, SuiteBilling or bank feed work.
- LLM-assisted finance workflows, such as invoice extraction or variance commentary, with human review.
- Make, Zapier, n8n or Airtable.
- Agency or consulting background across several client accounts.
