Responsibilities

NetSuite Consultant – Wholesale Distribution, Inventory & POS

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced NetSuite Consultant to support, optimize, and enhance our NetSuite ERP environment within a wholesale distribution business. The ideal candidate will have strong functional and technical knowledge of NetSuite, with a focus on inventory management, order-to-cash processes, purchasing, warehouse operations, financials, and integration with a Point of Sale (POS) system.

This individual will work closely with business stakeholders across operations, finance, sales, purchasing, and IT to ensure NetSuite supports complex inventory workflows, accurate financial reporting, and seamless integration between sales channels and operational systems.

Key Responsibilities

NetSuite ERP Administration & Optimization

• Configure, maintain, and optimize NetSuite modules to support wholesale distribution business processes.
• Evaluate existing workflows and recommend system enhancements, process improvements, and automation opportunities.
• Manage user roles, permissions, saved searches, dashboards, reports, and workflows.
• Support NetSuite releases, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing system maintenance.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system solutions.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

• Support complex inventory operations, including multi-location inventory, inventory transfers, replenishment, cycle counting, physical inventory, and inventory adjustments.
• Configure and optimize inventory costing, valuation, item records, units of measure, and inventory controls.
• Support lot or serial tracking, bin management, and advanced inventory capabilities where applicable.
• Improve inventory accuracy and visibility across warehouses, retail locations, and distribution channels.
• Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, fulfillment issues, negative inventory, and costing variances.
• Support demand planning, purchasing, reorder points, and inventory replenishment processes.

Wholesale Distribution & Order Management

• Support end-to-end order-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.
• Optimize sales orders, purchase orders, item fulfillment, shipping, invoicing, returns, and credit memos.
• Support pricing structures, customer-specific pricing, discounts, promotions, and multiple units of measure.
• Improve coordination between sales, purchasing, warehouse operations, customer service, and accounting.
• Ensure accurate transaction processing and appropriate inventory and financial impacts.

POS System Integration

• Support integration between NetSuite and the company's POS platform, including transaction flows, inventory synchronization, and financial reconciliation.
• Troubleshoot integration issues involving sales transactions, returns, discounts, tenders, taxes, customer records, and item data.
• Ensure POS sales, payments, refunds, and daily sales summaries are accurately reflected in NetSuite.
• Support integrations for real-time or batch inventory updates across retail locations, warehouses, and other sales channels.
• Work with internal IT teams and third-party vendors to resolve integration errors and improve system reliability.
• Validate end-to-end transaction processing and reconcile POS activity with NetSuite financial records.

Reporting, Testing & Support

• Develop and maintain saved searches, operational reports, KPIs, and dashboards for inventory, sales, purchasing, and financial performance.
• Perform requirements gathering, gap analysis, configuration, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Document business processes, system configurations, integrations, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide end-user training and ongoing support for NetSuite-related issues.
• Assist with month-end close activities, inventory reconciliation, and audit support.
• Manage issue prioritization and collaborate with business users, developers, and external implementation partners.
