Job summary

VLink, Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Storage Migration Engineer to lead Isilon-to-NetApp migrations and optimize ONTAP environments for reliability and performance.

You will assess Isilon infrastructure, design migration plans, and collaborate with Broadcom and internal teams to deliver scalable storage solutions with clear, proactive communication.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Electronic Design Automation customers.
• NetApp to Isilon migration experience and ONTAP knowledge.
• Automation and scripting skills.

Role: Work with Broadcom to migrate data from their Isilon storage to Netapp. Promote reliability and stability in their ONTAP environment.

Primary responsibilities:

• Assess and develop a plan to migrate their Isilon infrastructure

Primary strengths:

• Knowledge of EDA practices
• Deep ONTAP strength
• Configuration application and testing
• Clear technical communication skills
• Ability to operate individually and professionally within the organization
• Cloud knowledge helpful - AWS and GCP
• Can access NTAP tools
• Ability to Pull autosupport information and execute initial diagnostics without generating a support ticket
• Help resolve events in the field about a particular version of ONTAP
• Work with PS/Support resources and open up dialog immediately and take the lead to quickly to help resolve issues or diagnosing failover events without customer hand holding
• Transfer of Knowledge to other individuals in customer org.
