Job summary

LRSolutions, LLC in Minneapolis–St. Paul area is seeking a union field technician to test and maintain electrical power equipment across the upper Midwest. You will inspect switchgear, breakers, transformers, and cables, and support outages and emergencies on a frequent travel schedule.

The role requires NETA certification (or progress toward it) and willingness to mentor apprentices and junior technicians, with benefits through a union program including pension and per diem while traveling.

Qualifications

• Experience testing, inspecting, and maintaining high-voltage equipment (switchgear, breakers, transformers, cable).
• Ability to run HV test equipment and perform power factor tests.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% and mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect and maintain switchgear, breakers, transformers and cable.
• Run high-voltage test equipment, including power factor test sets.
• Commission new installations and support outages and emergencies.
• Lead and mentor apprentices and junior techs (senior levels).
