Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician - Electrical Testing to perform electrical testing, maintenance and repair on distribution systems and equipment at customer sites across industrial and commercial settings.

The role requires travel, HV/LV testing, transformer and relay testing, and strict adherence to safety procedures. NETA certification and a technical degree are preferred; experience with PowerDB is a plus. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be able to drive daily locally/regionally with overnight travel.
• Associate’s degree EPC or ABET-accredited EE degree; military training acceptable.
• NETA Certification (I–IV) or equivalent desired.
• 2+ years of switchgear testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Good PC skills; PowerDB experience a plus.
• Must follow electrical safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on HV/LV systems.
• Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing.
• Test relays, cables, ATS, and switchgear; troubleshoot issues.
• Conduct relay calibration and power metering tasks.
• Rotate on-call duties and respond to emergencies as needed.
