Job summary

The City of Cambridge Office of Sustainability invites applicants for the Building Decarbonization Fellow role to help implement the Net Zero Action Plan, focusing on electrification, efficiency, and renewable energy access. A major component is BEUDO, driving net-zero goals for large nonresidential buildings by 2035.

The Fellow will analyze energy and emissions data in Excel and BEUDO platforms, support policy-informed program design, and help coordinate with residents and the Cambridge Climate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or pursuing a master’s in a related field with 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of climate policy, clean energy, building energy concepts, or related energy strategy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze energy and emissions data in Excel and BEUDO data platforms.
• Research policy questions to inform program design, implementation decisions, or policy review.
• Support implementation of a new City renewable energy program for BEUDO Covered Properties.
• Create content and communications materials on building decarbonization and building performance standards for owners, residents, and stakeholders.
• Support Cambridge Climate Committee work, coordinating meetings and agendas and engaging diverse community members.
