Detailed Job Description: This position will work on the modernization of the OCFS Criminal History Review System (CHRS) application. CHRS is a mission critical application, which interfaces with other agency applications: Finger Information Processing System (FIPS) which interfaces with Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), National Sex Offender Registry, and are required to process provider background checks. CHRS is used by Bureau of Clearances and Records to process the arrest and criminal history of all NYS applicants requesting a position in Child Care or individuals requesting to become a foster or adoptive parent, within NYS. This includes anyone over the age of 18 residing in the households of Foster or Adoptive Parent Applicants or a Family or Group Family Child Day Care Home Applicant. CHRS also maintains electronic records for volunteer Mentoring agencies that seeks to create mentor/mentee relationships for children.
