Job summary

Timken is seeking a Level II Developer to design, develop, and support business applications enabling manufacturing and engineering operations. You will own development work end-to-end, participate in DevOps practices, and mentor Level I developers to improve coding standards and release processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with two to four years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy application features and bug fixes using C#/.NET technologies, SQL Server, and IIS-hosted applications.
• Deliver small to medium complexity enhancements from requirements gathering through production deployment.
• Ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined and solutions include appropriate unit and integration testing.
• Refactor existing applications to improve maintainability, performance, scalability, and code quality.
• Own assigned backlog items through the full development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, effort estimation, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Document technical decisions, system impacts, and implementation details to support long-term maintainability.
• Coordinate deployment activities while adhering to change management and release control processes.
• Monitor application health and diagnose production issues using logs, metrics, and troubleshooting tools.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring issues.
• Collaborate with site support teams and business users to ensure effective issue resolution and knowledge transfer.
• Support application reliability initiatives and reduce mean time to resolution for supported systems.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and environment management activities.
• Maintain deployment standards, release notes, rollback procedures, and configuration consistency across environments.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce secure coding, testing, and documentation standards.
• Improve application quality through expanded test coverage and adherence to development best practices.
