Job summary

Talan seeks a .NET Developer in NYC to maintain and improve a live equities back-office system used daily by the trading desk. This is production support, not a from-scratch build.

The role is hybrid (at least 3 days onsite weekly). Visa sponsorship is not provided by Talan for U.S. work permits or employment visas. You will resolve tickets, write code, and collaborate with business and tech teams to stabilize the platform.

Qualifications

• 5-9 years of experience in application support with hands-on development
• Strong .NET and SQL skills
• Experience with Perl, Unix Shell, or Windows batch scripting
• Comfort working in a ticket-driven, process-heavy environment (Incident/Change/Problem Management)

Responsibilities

• Handle daily support and resolve escalated tickets, working closely with business and technical teams to fix issues fast
• Write, debug, and refactor code in .NET to improve and stabilize the existing system
• Support and maintain scripts in Perl, Unix Shell, and Windows batch for scheduled jobs and automation
• Follow formal Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes
• Participate in requirements discussions and help shape solutions with the team
• Build new features or small applications when the roadmap calls for it
• Keep documentation up to date as the system evolves
