Job summary

Talan is seeking a .NET Developer for our NYC hybrid team to support and enhance a live equities back office system. This role focuses on maintaining production systems, addressing tickets quickly, and collaborating with business and technical teams to implement robust fixes.

You will work with .NET, SQL, and scripting tools (Perl/Unix Shell/Windows batch) in a process-driven environment, with exposure to equities trading workflows. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 5-9 years of experience in application support with hands-on development.
• Strong .NET and SQL skills.
• Experience with Perl/Unix Shell/Windows batch scripting.
• Comfort in a ticket-driven, process-heavy environment.
• Prior exposure to equities or trading back office systems.
• Good communication with business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily support and resolve escalated tickets, working closely with business and technical teams to fix issues fast.
• Write, debug, and refactor code in .NET to improve and stabilize the existing system.
• Support and maintain scripts in Perl, Unix Shell, and Windows batch for scheduled jobs and automation.
• Follow formal Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.
• Participate in requirements discussions and help shape solutions with the team.
• Build new features or small applications when the roadmap calls for it.
• Keep documentation up to date as the system evolves.
