Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists is seeking a Full-Time EMG/Nerve Conduction Technician in Saint Augustine, FL. You will perform electrodiagnostic testing under physician supervision, ensuring accuracy, patient comfort, and high-quality care throughout each procedure.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of EMG experience; Neurodiagnostic Technology training is preferred. Travel between clinic locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of EMG and nerve conduction study experience.
  • Solid knowledge of EMG procedures, patient care, HIPAA, and medical records.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication.
  • Professional, compassionate demeanor with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nerve conduction and EMG studies as directed by the supervising physician.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot artifacts to ensure accurate results.
  • Prepare, maintain, and restock instruments, equipment, and exam room supplies.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Calculate, record, and report nerve conduction values accurately.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and providers with empathy.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure equipment quality and readiness per safety standards.
  • Retrieve and organize test results for physician review.

Be a vital part of our diagnostic team - helping physicians uncover critical insights that guide patient treatment and recovery. As an EMG/Nerve Conduction Technician, you'll perform electrodiagnostic testing under physician supervision, ensuring accuracy, comfort, and quality care throughout each procedure.

Essential Functions

  • Perform nerve conduction and EMG studies as directed by the supervising physician.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot physiological and technical artifacts to ensure accurate results.
  • Prepare, maintain, and restock instruments, equipment, and exam room supplies.
  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Calculate, record, and report nerve conduction values precisely.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and providers, addressing questions and concerns with empathy.
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure equipment quality and readiness, following all safety and operational standards.
  • Retrieve and organize test results for physician review and follow-up.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required; completion of a Neurodiagnostic Technology program preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing EMG and nerve conduction studies in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Solid knowledge of EMG procedures, patient care, HIPAA, and medical record processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients and medical staff.
  • Ability to perform independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to travel between clinic locations as needed.
