Responsibilities

  • Explain the nerve conduction study to the patient prior to the exam.
  • Review patient medical records to confirm clearance for the procedure.
  • Perform nerve conduction studies and recognize normal vs. abnormal results.
  • Eliminate physiological and non-physiological artifacts.
  • Assist Physician with documentation of patient history and consult on study results.
  • Ensure equipment calibration and maintenance, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
  • Maintain CNCT or RNCST certification.
  • Comply with HIPAA and OSHA standards.

Description

Position Summary:The EMG / NCS Technologist will provide quality patient care and Customer service. They will test each patient with speed, efficiency and compassion following FOI’s basic policies and procedures.

Compensation: Starting at $33.00/hr

Qualifications:

  • CNCT or RNCST certification
  • Graduated a CAAHEP accredited neuro-diagnostic program

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explains the nerve conduction study to the patient prior to the exam.
  • Reviews the patient’s medical records to confirm clearance for the procedure.
  • Performs nerve conduction study recognizing normal and abnormal results.
  • Takes steps to eliminate physiological and non-physiological artifact.
  • Assists Physician with documentation of patient history.
  • Consults with the Physician on the study results.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Assures maintenance and working order of equipment including but not limited to checking calibrations.
  • Conforms to HIPAA and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain CNCT or RNCST certification
  • All other duties as assigned.
