Job summary

Westinghouse Electric is seeking a NERC Compliance Engineer – Substation for a 1-year onsite contract in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. You will lead NERC compliance readiness and substation turnover before COD, implementing and documenting PRC and FAC standards.

The role requires experience with NERC compliance for substations, PRC/FAC standards, and a background in electrical engineering or power systems.

About the Role

We are seeking a NERC Compliance Engineer – Substation (onsite) for a 1-year contract (W‑2). In this role you will be the technical lead for NERC compliance readiness and substation turnover before the Commercial Operation Date (COD). You will implement, document, and validate all applicable PRC and FAC standards in accordance with the Power Generation Division (PGD) compliance programs prior to energization and turnover to Operations. Must incorporate NERC requirements into design, settings, studies and commissioning documentation before COD.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the NERC Compliance Program up to COD.
• Identify and implement applicable NERC standards for new substations, including PRC-001, PRC-004, PRC-005, PRC-019, PRC-023, PRC-024, PRC-027, FAC-008, FAC-009, etc.
• Validate PRC mandates: relay settings, coordination studies, and protection philosophies.

The base hourly rate for this position is estimated to be $55.00-$60.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills.

Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. Per diem available.
