Eligible candidates have an active NY license, a Master's in Nursing, and at least 1 year of NP experience. Flexible schedule options include full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• Active New York State nursing license; board-certified or board-eligible.
• Minimum 1 year NP experience; nephrology experience preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including histories and renal function.
• Assist in diagnosis and management of nephrology conditions such as CKD and ESRD.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (creatinine, BUN, GFR, urinalysis, imaging).
• Develop individualized treatment plans with supervising nephrologist.
• Prescribe medications including antihypertensives and diuretics as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families on kidney disease management and diet.
• Coordinate care with dialysis centers and transplant teams.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed; document in EMR.
• Stay current with nephrology advances through CME and collaboration.

Position Overview:

Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking a Nephrology Nurse Practitioner to fill an opening with a multi-specialty practice located in Bronx, New York. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to patients with kidney-related conditions in a collaborative and supportive outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and renal function evaluations.
• Assist in the diagnosis and management of kidney-related conditions such as chronic kidney disease, hypertension, electrolyte imbalances, glomerulonephritis, and end-stage renal disease.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests including blood work (creatinine, BUN, GFR), urinalysis, and imaging studies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising nephrologist.
• Prescribe medications, including antihypertensives, diuretics, and phosphate binders, as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families on kidney disease management, dietary modifications (fluid, sodium, potassium, phosphorus restrictions), medication adherence, and when to seek emergency care.
• Coordinate care with dialysis centers, transplant teams, and other specialists within the multi-specialty practice.
• Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up visits and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
• Stay current with advancements in nephrology through continuing medical education and collaboration with supervising physicians.

• Education:Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Licensure:Must have an active New York State license. Must be board-certified or board-eligible.
• Experience:At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner (not necessarily in Nephrology). Nephrology experience is a plus but not required.
• Technical Skills:Proficient in patient assessment, diagnostic test interpretation, medication management, and electronic health records. Willingness to learn nephrology‐specific procedures and treatments.
• Soft Skills:Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
