Job summary

Covenant Health is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our neonatal care team for daytime rounds on level II-III acuity patients. This 0.75 FTE role excludes night shifts and on-call duties.

The NNP will conduct health assessments, develop care plans, manage medications and procedures, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for fragile newborns and their families.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization in Neonatal Care.
• Certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP).
• Two years of NICU/NICU-like neonatal care experience preferred.
• Current state NP license and active certification in neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• conduct comprehensive health assessments of premature and critically ill newborns.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
• Manage neonatal medications, treatments, and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals for optimal outcomes.

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Qualifications & Skills

• Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization in Neonatal Care.
• Certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP).
• Prior experience in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
• Strong skills in communication and family support.
• Experience with advanced medical technologies used in neonatal care.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice
• Minimum of two years of experience in neonatal care
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
