Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology. We care for critically ill infants who are born at Rush and/or transferred in from network hospitals. Our patient mix ranges from extremely preterm infants to those with complex surgical needs.
The expectation for this role is to care for a complex set of patients and work collaboratively with neonatologists, neonatal fellows, pediatric residents, and fellow Advanced Practice Providers. Responsibilities include delivery room attendance and management, direct patient care, neonatal procedures, and neonatal transport. The schedule for this position rotates and is handled through self-scheduling within guidelines.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse who functions as a member of the health‑care team to provide high‑quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical‑staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost‑effective and quality patient care, and will maintain state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.
Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs. The total pay range reflects the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including specialty, relevant experience and training, and other business and organizational factors. The total pay range is for a full‑time, 1.0 FTE employee and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign‑on bonuses, and relocation allowances. A comprehensive benefits package is also offered.
