Job summary

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria invites applications for a full-time academic neonatologist in the Department of Pediatrics. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive neonatal care at OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital of Illinois, a 64-bed Level IV NICU.

Responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, participating in clinical research and quality improvement, and contributing to the growth of neonatal services across the region.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent medical degree.
• Residency in pediatrics completed.
• ACGME-accredited neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship completed.
• Board certification in Pediatrics.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology.
• Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Illinois.
• Commitment to clinical care and teaching in an academic setting.
• Eligible for an academic appointment commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for critically ill newborns in a Level IV NICU.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across pediatric subspecialties.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
• Participate in clinical research, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and meet quality and productivity standards.
• Contribute to faculty meetings, committees, and curriculum development.

Education

MD/DO or equivalent medical degree

Residency in pediatrics completed

A CGME-accredited neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship completed

Board certification in Pediatrics

Board-certified or board-eligible in Neonatology

Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Illinois
