Pediatrix Medical Group seeks an experienced Board-Certified Neonatologist to provide per diem coverage at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, VA. This state-of-the-art Level III NICU supports high-risk newborns with a skilled team and 24/7 nurse support.

The role includes day and night shift coverage as part of a staffing model, with opportunities to participate in advanced neonatal therapies and complex care plans for surgical and medically unstable neonates.

Competenze

• Board-certified neonatology with active state license (Virginia preferred).
• Experience in Level III NICU care and neonatal procedures.

Mansioni

• Provide per diem coverage in a Level III NICU per the staffing model.
• Perform high-frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide as indicated.
• Lead and coordinate transports with the nurse-driven team under physician oversight.
• Participate in care of surgical neonatal patients and post-resuscitation protocols.

Per Diem Opportunity in Level III NICU for an experienced, Board Certified Neonatologist in Henrico, VA - Day/Night Shift Coverage Combination

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced, Board-Certified Neonatologist to provide per diem coverage at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital (HDH) in Richmond, Virginia. This is your chance to practice in a state-of-the-art 40-bed Level III NICU with a supportive, experienced team.

Your Role

• Staffing Model: 6 full-time Neonatologists
  • Day coverage: 2 Neonatologists (7:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
  • Night coverage: 1 in-house Neonatologist (5:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Dates needed: 12/30/2026, 12/31/2026, and 1/1/2027
• Transport: Nurse-driven team with physician oversight (avg. 15 transports/year)
• Procedures & Services:
  • High-frequency ventilation (HFOV & HFJV)
  • Inhaled nitric oxide
  • Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
  • Pediatric surgical patients
  • No ECMO or cardiac surgery (except PDA ligations)

2025 NICU Stats (YTD through April)

• NICU Admissions: 130
• NICU Average Daily Census (ADC): 14.3
• Nursery ADC: 24.2
