Job summary

Northwest Children's Hospital in Amarillo is seeking a Neonatologist for its Level III NICU. The team includes a close-knit group of NNPs and Neonatologists, supported by RNs, RTs, therapists, social workers and breastfeeding specialists trained to care for delicate NICU infants.

The 35-bed unit handles an average daily census of 23–25, with ten 24-hour shifts per month. There is 24/7 NNP coverage, in-house pediatric subspecialties, and a competitive compensation package with full benefits.

• Manage a 35-bed Level III NICU with a team of NNPs and neonatologists.

• Ensure 24/7 NNP support and collaborate with Pediatric Hospitalists for newborn care.
• Coordinate in-house pediatric subspecialties: Cardiology, Nephrology, Pediatric Surgery, Endocrinology.

Northwest Children's Hospital in Amarillo is hiring a Neonatologist for the Level III NICU. The team consists of a close-knit group of NNPs and Neonatologists supported by a dedicated staff of RNs, RTs, occupational and physical therapists, social workers, and breastfeeding specialists, each trained specifically to work with infants in the NICU.

Position Details:

• 35-bed Level III NICU
• Average daily census of 23-25
• Work schedule: average of ten 24-hour shifts a month
• NNP support 24/7
• Pediatric Hospitalist sees newborns
• Peds subspecialties in-house: Cardiology, Nephrology, Peds Surgery, Endocrinology

Northwest Children's has been a pioneer in Neonatal intensive care since 1974 and has the largest NICU in the region, a 35-bed Level III NICU. The hospital offers over 10 Pediatric subspecialties including Children's Oncology Group Treatment Center. Children's offers a Ronald McDonald Family Room for families of children who are patients, along with other support programs and services.
