Job summary

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join the Infant Respiratory Therapy Team in a Level III NICU. You will respond to Labor & Delivery and OB emergencies, support inter-facility transport, and exercise neonatal team autonomy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care approved Respiratory program required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred/required prior to expiration of temp permit.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions, ABG data, and patient data to determine therapy type, duration, and dosages.
• Set up, operate, and monitor ventilators and related systems; adjust equipment for optimal results.
• Monitor patient responses (vital signs, blood gases) and perform therapies as prescribed.
• Consult physicians regarding adverse reactions and document patient charts.
• Demonstrate procedures, supervise trainees, and assist in transporting ventilated patients.
• Respond to all emergency code situations.
