Job summary

Sanford Health Fargo seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to deliver expert care in the NICU alongside neonatologists. The NNP will maintain proficiency in assessment, treatment and management of ill newborns in a Magnet-recognized 40-bed unit serving the region.

The role includes coordinating care with the Neonatal Flight Team, supporting 24/7 coverage, guiding nursing staff, families and other clinicians. Requires an NNP degree, current ND licensure, and board certification.

Qualifications

• Master’s, post-master’s, or doctoral degree from an NNP program accredited by CCON or NLN
• Current licensure by the ND Board of Nursing for advanced practice
• Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances
• NNP board certification by ANCC or equivalent
• Anticipated additional flight team certifications (NRP, BLS, PALS)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct neonatal care in the NICU in collaboration with neonatologists
• Coordinate, partner and consult with clinical experts to develop and implement care plans
• Assist physicians in daily and long-term patient management and emergency care when needed
• Document collaboration and clinical findings in the patient record
