The role requires a California RN license with NP certification, a Neonatal NP specialization, and a track record in Level III/IV NICU settings, plus BLS/NRP. This is a full-time, on-site position with credentialing processes managed by UCSF's OMAG.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing recognized Nurse Practitioner Program with a masters or doctoral degree aligned with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specialization
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent working experience in a Level III or IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a Nurse Practitioner
• More than two (2) years of experience working as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in a Level III or Level IV Neonatal ICU
• Lactation education experience or IBCLC certification
• California RN license without restriction
• California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction
• California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number
• NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Neonatal (NNP-BC)
• California Driver License (if required for position)
• DEA Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Additional required AHA certifications: NRP Advanced
• Additional required certifications (such as ENLS): None

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Practitioner will act as a member of the care team, taking primary responsibility for the safe delivery of care for inpatient newborns and infants. This team member will meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Division Chief, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated.
