Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC, is seeking a skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated neonatal team. This 100% inpatient role will work with a collegial group of NNPs under local physician supervision, serving neonates delivered at FRMC, which averages about 30 births per month.

The position requires a Master's degree in Nursing with Neonatal NP certification, NC NP license, and at least three years of experience in a Level II NICU or similar setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification.
• Active and unrestricted NP license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a Level II NICU or similar setting.
• Comfortable working independently and handling critical neonatal procedures.
• Strong clinical and communication skills with a collaborative approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care for all neonates delivered at Frye Regional Medical Center.
• Care for infants in our newborn nursery.
• Work independently with confidence in managing various procedures, including incubation, chest tubes, UVC & UAC insertions, and lumbar punctures.
• Collaborate with a team of neonatal specialists and physicians to ensure optimal care for each patient.
• Provide education and emotional support to families, helping them navigate complex neonatal care situations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and the development of clinical protocols.
