Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our dedicated neonatal team. This 100% inpatient role involves working with a collegial group of NNPs under physician supervision to provide high-quality care to neonates, including approximately 30 births per month.

You will be responsible for comprehensive neonatal care, working in the newborn nursery, and performing procedures such as chest tube placement, UVC/UAC insertions, and lumbar

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification is required.
• Active and unrestricted NP license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a Level II NICU or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care for all neonates delivered at Frye Regional Medical Center.
• Care for infants in the newborn nursery.
• Work independently with confidence in managing various procedures: incubation, chest tubes, UVC & UAC insertions, lumbar punctures.
• Collaborate with a team of neonatal specialists and physicians to ensure optimal care.
• Provide education and emotional support to families navigating neonatal care situations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and development of clinical protocols.
