Job description

Bring your neonatal expertise to the Gulf Coast as a Nurse Practitioner, where meaningful care, collaborative practice, and an exciting coastal lifestyle create a career opportunity worth celebrating!

This Advanced Practice Provider will join a mission-driven regional hospital known for compassionate, patient-first care, strong clinical standards, and a commitment to improving outcomes for infants and families. The healthcare organization supports evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, modern clinical technology, continuing education, and professional development, giving the Nurse Practitioner opportunities to strengthen specialty skills while contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Within the Intermediate Care Neonatal unit, the Nurse Practitioner will care for newborns who require specialized observation, treatment, and support in a collaborative step-down nursery environment. The Advanced Practice Provider will help assess neonatal conditions, develop care plans, coordinate treatment, educate families, and support safe transitions across levels of care while enjoying the region’s Creole-influenced culture, and affordable Southern charm along the Gulf Coast.

Reporting to designated neonatal and hospital clinical leadership, the Nurse Practitioner will practice with established protocols, physician collaboration, specialty consultation, and accessible operational support. Responsibilities may include neonatal assessments, diagnostic interpretation, treatment planning, medication management, documentation, family education, discharge coordination, and participation in quality and safety programs. Friendly nurses, experienced physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and a diverse team of healthcare professionals create a respectful setting where the Advanced Practice Provider can exercise sound clinical judgment and make a visible impact.

Southwest Alabama offers the Nurse Practitioner an appealing combination of affordable housing, manageable commutes, welcoming communities, and easy access to Gulf Coast recreation. Residents can enjoy beaches, boating, fishing, kayaking, parks, nature trails, concerts, festivals, college and professional sports, local shopping, and a food scene celebrated for seafood, Southern favorites, and Creole influences. The region also provides family-friendly neighborhoods, schools, higher education options, healthcare access, growing employment sectors, regional airports, pet-friendly outdoor spaces, and a comfortable lifestyle with more privacy and less congestion than many major metropolitan areas.

This Nurse Practitioner opportunity includes competitive compensation and a full suite of health and retirement benefits, with potential offerings such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, and professional development support.
