Job description

Bring advanced clinical expertise to the bedside as a Nurse Practitioner and energize a rewarding critical care career with a respected hospital in northeast Alabama!

This Advanced Practice Provider will join a mission-driven, patient-first healthcare organization recognized locally for compassionate care, clinical quality, and a strong culture of safety. The hospital supports evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, modern clinical technology, continuing education, and professional growth while giving clinicians meaningful opportunities to improve patient outcomes. With responsive leadership, streamlined care processes, and a commitment to clinician wellbeing, the Nurse Practitioner will find an environment where autonomy, innovation, and trusted teamwork are valued.

The Nurse Practitioner will serve in the ICU, providing high-acuity critical care for medically complex patients who require timely assessment, advanced treatment planning, and vigilant clinical management. This role offers exposure to diverse critical care conditions, close collaboration with physicians and bedside clinicians, and the opportunity to strengthen specialized skills in a fast-paced setting. Beyond the hospital, candidates will enjoy Appalachian foothills scenery and active downtown revitalization, creating an appealing balance between an engaging clinical career and a vibrant community lifestyle.

Reporting through hospital clinical leadership and collaborating closely with the ICU medical team, the Advanced Practice Provider will evaluate patients, develop and adjust treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic testing, perform approved procedures, coordinate consultations, and communicate clearly with patients and families. The Nurse Practitioner will be supported by friendly nurses and a diverse team of physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation specialists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to safe transitions and excellent outcomes.

Living in northeast Alabama gives the Nurse Practitioner access to scenic foothills, hiking, fishing, parks, green space, and an easygoing lifestyle with four distinct seasons. The region blends affordable housing and a manageable cost of living with family-friendly neighborhoods, local schools, healthcare access, everyday shopping, Southern cuisine, community festivals, live music, and expanding downtown dining and entertainment. Short commutes, lower-density living, nearby colleges, regional employment growth, and convenient connections to larger Southern cities make the area attractive for professionals seeking natural beauty, practical amenities, and room to build a future.

This Nurse Practitioner opportunity includes competitive compensation and a full suite of health and retirement benefits, with additional offerings that may include paid time off, continuing education support, professional development resources, and role-specific incentives.
