Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Special Care Nursery. This part-time night-shift role involves direct patient care for neonates, comprehensive assessments, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team.

The nurse will document care, educate families, and participate in clinical pathways while ensuring adherence to Delaware Nursing Practice Act policies. Minimum qualifications include an ASN, Delaware RN license, BLS, and 1–2 years in Special Care

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred from an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in Delaware.
• 1–2 years' experience in Special Care Nursery.
• BLS certification.
• NRP certification within 6 months of employment.
• RNC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards and performs comprehensive newborn assessment.
• Plans and delivers care to neonates, including thermoregulation and glucose monitoring.
• Instructs parents on follow-up care and documents instructions.
• Maintains accurate clinical records reflecting patient condition and treatment.
• Communicates with multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.
• Provides precise charting and patient reporting as needed.
