Job summary

Mercy St. Louis is seeking a Milk Technician in the NICU on a PRN basis with 8-hour shifts, every other weekend, plus holiday coverage. The role supports nurses, families, and the care team by preparing, labeling, and delivering infant feedings and ensuring safe milk handling.

Ideal candidates are students or future NICU nurses, with a high school diploma, current BLS, and comfort using computers. Prior milk or pharmacy tech experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Comfort using computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, label, store, and deliver all infant feedings including: Mother’s own milk, PDHM, ready‑to‑feed formula
• Maintain safe and accurate milk handling processes
• Support the healthcare team with breastmilk distribution and inventory
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and patient families
• Demonstrate Mercy’s Mission, Values, and Service Standards in every interaction
