Job summary

Midland Health is seeking a Registered Nurse Manager focused on patient safety and quality to oversee Women’s & Children’s Services. The role requires leadership in NICU, Lactation, and Childbirth Education, with responsibilities spanning clinical management and neonatal program development.

The position reports to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services and emphasizes collaborative governance, data-driven improvement, and stakeholder engagement across units in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BSN required; if not held at hire, enrollment with graduation within 6 months.
• Current TX RN license required.
• Certification in neonatal specialty preferred (NIC, LRN, MNN).
• BLS required at hire; NRP within 6 months; STABLE courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of assigned areas including staffing, throughput, and data collection.
• Lead and develop spans of control; drive quality improvement and patient safety.
• Conduct quality management audits and analyze data for performance improvement.
• Implement corrective actions related to employee performance.
• Foster communication and stakeholder relationships through shared decision making.
• Apply healthcare environment knowledge to improve practice and outcomes.
• Allocate 60% of time to NICU, Lactation, and Childbirth Education; 40% to program management.
• Report to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services; chair neonatal QAPI monthly meetings.
