Job summary

Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL seeks an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology. The NICU cares for critically ill infants, including extremely preterm and complex surgical cases.

The role includes delivery room attendance, direct patient care, neonatal procedures, and transport, with a rotating schedule and self-scheduling.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as an Illinois NP or PA.
• MSN or DNP with neonatal focus (for NP).
• ACNP/APRN certification or PA-C certification required.
• CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• DEA license and hospital privileges for Rush facilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to a complex neonatal patient population.
• Attend delivery room and manage immediate neonatal needs.
• Perform neonatal procedures and participate in neonatal transport.
• Work collaboratively with neonatologists, residents and fellows; self-schedule within guidelines.
