Job summary

America West Transportation LLC is seeking a courteous wheelchair Transport Driver to deliver exceptional customer service, assisting clients entering and exiting the vehicle and providing a “through the door” service. A flexible schedule is required to meet business needs.

Drivers perform pre-inspections, ensure safety, and transport clients to destinations in a safe manner on local routes. The role emphasizes reliability, safety, and care for elderly passengers.

Qualifications

• Must have valid state driver’s license (or CDL)
• Experience driving with corporate or paratransit clients is a plus
• Familiarity with the driving region and GPS navigation
• Background checks and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required

About the Role

We are seeking a courteous and friendly wheelchair Transport Driver who can deliver excellent customer service consistently. Drivers must assist clients getting in and out of the vehicle and assist clients with a "through the door" service. Applicants must have a flexible work schedule, to accommodate the business need.

What You'll Do

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Drivers are responsible for pre-inspection checks on all vehicles they are driving. They must make sure all items or any other devices are stored away properly. Drivers must drive clients to and from destinations in a safe manner.

Work Location: On the road locally in the region

Qualifications

License

• Valid state driver's license or commercial driver's license required.

Education & Training

• High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Valid CPR/First Aid card is preferred but not required.
• Drivers should be familiar with the driving region and the surrounding areas.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience driving corporate clients and paratransit vehicles are a plus.
• Must have a valid specific state driver's license of posted job location for at least five (5) years with no more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at fault accident in the last three (3) years.
• Applicants must be familiar with using cellular phones and navigating around areas using a GPS.
• Experience working with the elderly population
• Physical certifications: Non-DOT Physical, Drug, TB, and Breath Alcohol test
• Acceptable background screens, which include but is not limited to criminal check and drug and alcohol screening
• Valid Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Bilingual in another language in addition to English preferred

Working Conditions

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass pre-employment screening - background and drug screen which includes alcohol screening
• May be subjected to multiple drug and alcohol screenings to maintain Driver credentials

Physical Requirements

Driver must be able to pass the physical test:

• Lift up to 50 LBS, push up to 150 LBS
• Bend from the waist
• Pivot from waist
• Be able to move from a standing position to kneeling position back to standing
