Job summary

The City Of Atlanta Careers seeks an Ombudsman Specialist/Neighborhoods Relationship Manager to support the Ombudsman of Neighborhoods and act as a liaison for communities. This role entails attending NPU and neighborhood association meetings and guiding referrals and escalations with diplomacy.

You will partner with the Ombudsman, coordinate resources, and maintain confidential intake for concerns while leading dashboards and outgoing communications to neighborhood groups.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of neighborhoods and communities in Atlanta.
• Understanding of neutral processes and organizational ombudsman protocols.
• Familiarity with national best practices for community engagement.
• Ability to manage complex projects and work with a team.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills; collaborative problem solving.
• Experience with marketing and communication software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend NPU and Neighborhood Association meetings.
• Receive referrals for escalations and issues requiring Ombuds services.
• Shuttle concerns to Ombudsman of Neighborhoods, Departments, etc.
• Collaborate to shuttle diplomacy and develop conciliatory solutions.
• Provide resource referrals and recommendations.
• Serve as confidential intake contact for concerns and inquiries.
• Spearhead dashboard and manage outgoing correspondence to NPUs/Neighborhood Associations.
• Operate within the Ombuds protocol per IA/US Ombudsman standards.

The Ombudsman Specialist/Neighborhoods Relationship Manager provides specialized support to the Ombudsman of Neighborhoods and serves as a liaison.

Key Roles

• Attend NPU and Neighborhood Association meetings.
• Receives referrals for escalations and issues requiring Ombuds services.
• Shuttles concerns to Ombudsman of Neighborhoods, Departments, etc.
• Partners with Ombudsman of Neighborhoods to shuttle diplomacy, develop solutions and paths to conciliation.
• Provide resource referrals and recommendations.
• Serves as a confidential point of contact for the intake of concerns and inquiries.
• Spearheads dashboard and manages outgoing correspondence to NPU’s and Neighborhood Associations.
• Operates within the protocol, role, and function of an organizational Ombuds according to the practices of The International Ombudsman Association and US Ombudsman Association.
