Job Summary

As a Regional Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for overseeing the psychiatric clinical programs in Nebraska and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. You will partner with and oversee a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and operational leaders. The successful candidate will play a critical role in assessing and treating psychiatric disorders, developing care plans, and communicating effectively with nursing staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operational leaders to oversee clinical relations with facilities.
  • Ensure high quality care of nurse practitioners and physician assistants by providing clinical oversight and chart review.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and other regional psychiatrists to implement best practices to your region.
  • Collaborate closely with local facility leadership (Directors of Nursing & Medical Directors) to ensure their resident’s received the highest quality psychiatric care
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine the appropriate treatment plan for patients.
  • Provide medication management services by evaluating medication effectiveness and side effects, prescribing medication, and adjusting dosages as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients, including progress notes, treatment plans, and diagnosis codes.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including therapists, psychologists, and social workers to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings to provide updates on patient progress and coordinate care.
  • Hybrid virtual and in person travel to facilities as necessary to ensure high quality care.
  • Attend training and continuing education programs to stay current on best practices and new research in psychiatry.

Requirements

  • Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Unrestricted licensure as a physician in the applicable state, including ability to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Licensed by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances

Pay
