Job summary

MISTRAS Alaska is seeking an NDT Trainee to assist Level II and Level III personnel in performing non-destructive testing activities. The trainee will support inspection operations while gaining practical experience across UT, RT, PT, MT, and VT, on a rotating schedule of 21 on/21 off or 14 on/14 off with 12‑hour shifts on the North Slope.

This entry‑level role emphasizes safety, physical fitness, and the ability to work in extreme cold environments and cramped spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work in extreme climates.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work on North Slope 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist NDT Level II and Level III personnel with non-destructive testing activities.
• Support inspection operations while following established procedures and safety requirements.
• Participate in on-the-job training for various NDT methods as assigned.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
