Job summary

MISTRAS Group Alaska is seeking an NDT Assistant to support Level II and Level III technicians on projects across Alaska. This hands-on field position covers Non-Destructive Testing activities and may involve extended shifts based on project needs.

The role is limited to local candidates in Anchorage or Wasilla. Work is project-based with long daily shifts in field/industrial environments and may require travel to other Alaska sites, while adhering to safety and client requirements.

Qualifications

• 40-hour Radiation Safety course is highly preferred.
• Some prior NDT experience or NDE classroom training is required.
• NDE methods such as UT, RT, PT, MT, or VT are highly preferred.
• Candidates without NDT/NDE experience or training will not be considered.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current IRRSP or state card is preferred.
• Current Level I or higher IRATA Rope Access certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist Level II and Level III NDT technicians with inspections and testing activities.
• Prepare equipment and work areas for NDT examinations.
• Support NDT activities in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
• Assist with equipment handling, setup, and cleanup.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Follow all company, client, safety, and quality requirements.
• Perform other project‑related duties as assigned.
