Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies in Seattle, WA is seeking a trainee for a non-destructive testing (NDT) program. You will be documented as a trainee and participate in a training program for a specified NDT method, under direct observation of Level 2/3 staff, with shifts available.

You will gain hands-on experience, not making acceptance decisions or independently testing, and you may train on other shifts before a scheduled shift. Local candidates preferred; relocation not provided.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred; NDT experience encouraged.
• Local candidates preferred; relocation not provided.
• Must train in other shifts prior to scheduled shift.

• Shall not independently perform any other NDT functions.

Job description

Reports to: NDT Supervisor
Location: Seattle, WA
Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 1st Shift (5:00 am - 12:30pm Monday - Friday), 2nd Shift (12:00 pm - 8:30 pm Monday - Friday), 3rd Shift (9;00 pm - 5:00 am Sunday - Thursday) - Shift availability is determined by business needs and may change.

Requirements

• Education: High school or General Education Degree (GED) Required.
• Experience: 1-2 years.
• Candidates with prior NDT experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Preference will be given to local applicants, as relocation assistance is not provided.
• Must be able to train in other shifts before going to scheduled shift.

• Compensation Range $21.30 to $ 26.00 per hour (DOE) + Shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts

Work Environment

Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment may be required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and a respirator (provided by Company).
