Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies in Seattle, WA is seeking an NDT trainee to participate in a structured training program for an NDT method. You will gain hands-on experience under supervision and progress through levels under guidance.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and reliability, with shifts across 1st, 2nd and 3rd as required by business needs. Training and growth opportunities are offered professionally.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school or GED required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years.
  • Candidates with prior NDT experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Preference given to local applicants; relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Must be able to train in other shifts before going to the scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

  • Shall be documented as a trainee and actively participate in a training program for a stated NDT method for a limited period of time.
  • Shall obtain experience under the direct observation of a Level 2 or Level 3 in the same method.
  • Shall obtain experience under direct observation of a Level 1 or instructor only when approved by the Responsible Level 3.
  • Shall not make accept or reject decisions.
  • Shall not independently conduct tests.
  • Shall not independently perform any other NDT functions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Schedule: 1st Shift (5:00 am - 12:30pm Monday - Friday), 2nd Shift (12:00 pm - 8:30 pm Monday - Friday), 3rd Shift (9;00 pm - 5:00 am Sunday - Thursday) - Shift availability is determined by business needs and may change.

Job Summary:

Requirements:
  • Education: High school or General Education Degree (GED) Required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years.

  • Compensation Range $21.30 to $ 26.00 per hour (DOE) + Shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts

Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment may be required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and a respirator (provided by Company).
