Summary
Assist NDT Technicians with inspections of structures, pipelines, or other components and materials using x-ray, ultrasound, or related equipment.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the setup and utilization of equipment for non-destructive testing of components and materials in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Assist in performing non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections, such as gamma radiography, x-ray radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, leak testing, and visual inspections.
- Assist in NDT examination techniques, including selecting, preparing, loading, calibrating, or operating equipment used in non-destructive testing.
- Assist in identifying defects in materials using testing techniques.
- Drive company vehicles and maintain a safe driving record.
- Receive training on experienced tasks and learn new tasks from Lead Technicians.
- Follow safety instructions to ensure the safety of the entire team.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Knowledge of and willingness to follow applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Apply safety standards in the work environment and look out for team members.
- Ability to work demanding and flexible schedules, including long hours (up to 16-hour days), respond to call-outs on short notice, and travel for extended periods.
- Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds frequently, exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 150 pounds with assistance, and perform tasks involving climbing, working at heights, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions, working in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and near hazards.

- Work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification and Licensure
Valid driver’s license and insurability through PROtect, LLC. insurance carrier.
Work Experience
Preferred some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
