Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking experienced Level II MT/VT Technicians for long-term shipbuilding work in Hampton, VA. You will perform NAVSEA weld inspections, and conduct MT/VT inspections to verify weld quality in accordance with NAVSEA requirements.

This role offers a structured training program and the opportunity to contribute to mission-critical maritime projects. We provide training prior to testing to help qualified technicians refresh NAVSEA knowledge and walk into testing

Qualifications

• Current Level II MT/VT Certifications.
• Strong understanding of welding inspection methods, procedures, and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform NAVSEA weld inspections.
• Conduct Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Visual Testing (VT) inspections.

Job description

NIC an Element company, is hiring experienced Level II MT/VT Technicians for long term shipbuilding work in Hampton, VA.

We provide training prior to testing to help qualified technicians prepare, refresh their NAVSEA knowledge, and walk into testing ready to succeed.

• Perform NAVSEA weld inspections in accordance with established procedures and standards.
• Conduct Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Visual Testing (VT) inspections.
• Verify weld quality and ensure compliance with applicable NAVSEA requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection documentation and reports.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Required Qualifications

• Current Level II MT/VT Certifications.
• Strong understanding of welding inspection methods, procedures, and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional welding inspection or NDT certifications.
• Prior experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or marine industrial environments.
