Job summary

Acuren is seeking an NDT SME to support laboratory operations in Bensenville, IL. This role focuses on setting up calibrated nondestructive testing equipment and performing tests to detect defects using NDT methods.

The candidate will interpret radiographs and other readouts, report results, and may supervise others in a safety-conscious environment. Experience in aerospace and NADCAP audits is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold ASNT Level III with RT, MT, PT, and UT.
• CR/DR experience required.
• Aerospace experience preferred.
• Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
• Experience in report writing.
• Must have NADCAP experience with audits and accreditations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
• Conduct tests to detect discontinuities using NDT methods of inspection.
• Interpret radiographs, CRT or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators.
• Organize and report test results.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection.
