Job summary

CHIPTON-ROSS Inc. is seeking an NDT Quality Test Specialist (CU) located in Lemoore, CA. The role focuses on assurance of the Field Operations QMS through active engagement and audits conforming to the 4790.2 Naval Aviation Maintenance Program.

The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of NDT Quality Testing experience, familiarity with aircraft maintenance, and a degree in a related field. Flexibility in working shifts is required. Candidates should not apply if they lack the desired flexibility or experience.

Job description

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • Certified NAS 410 Eddy current testing (ECT).
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Client is seeking an NDT Quality Test Specialist (CU) with a background in Aircraft Structures and Non-Destructive Testing experience in Lemoore, CA.

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing assurance of the Field Operations QMS and its related processes through active engagement with other functions supporting aircraft maintenance activities.
  • Performs setup for specialized non-destructive Eddy current testing (ECT), and Mobile Automated Scanner System (MAUS) inspections utilizing test or measurement equipment to controlled standards.
  • Performance of audits referenced by 4790.2 Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) aviation maintenance programs.
  • Supporting colleagues within other functions with development of processes/procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to Client policies/procedures.
  • Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA).
  • Supporting Safety/Quality investigations (as directed by Lead/Manager).
  • Non-Conformance Management and inputting data into Client software tools.
  • Active participation within Continuous Improvement/Lean initiatives.
  • Assist with metrics development supporting the wider Field Operations QMS.
  • Attend required meetings and present associated metrics for review.
  • Assists in the documentation of procedures for setting up test equipment.
  • Analyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity, assists with standard corrective action recommendations.
  • Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results.
  • Reports potential adverse trends or anomalous results.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • An AA degree in related NDT discipline and typically 5 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance.
  • 5+ years' experience maintaining F/A-18E/F, Aircraft Logs, and Records Books IAW 4790.2.
  • 5+ years' experience with COMNAVAIRINST 4790.2 Series quality assurance programs such as FOD and Tool Control.
  • 5+ years of experience working with composites and non-porous metals, such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless.
  • 5+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, engineering drawings and standard operating procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience using structures hand tools such as: drills 45 and 90 degrees, pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.
  • 5+ years of experience working heavy structures: locating, drilling, countersinking and fastening structures (i.e. doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.) to aircraft.
  • Certified NAS 410 Mobile Automated Scanner System (MAUS).
  • 5+ years of experience with NDT Quality Testing.
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An understanding and previous experience of AS9100 Quality Assurance Management system.
  • Capable of traveling on an as needed basis (up to 25% of the time).
  • Ability to work variable shifts (scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and workload.
REQUIRED EDUCATION

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor + 1 year related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.). Education must be accredited.

WORK HOURS

MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING 1st, 2nd or 3rd SHIFT.

Candidate must have flexibility to work all shifts and variable shifts; those who do not have this flexibility should not apply.
