Job summary

Millerbernd Manufacturing Company is seeking an NDT Quality Technician I (or II) for the weekend shift in Winsted, MN. The role focuses on testing and inspecting products at various production stages to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

The position offers an hourly wage range of $27.17 to $32.12, with a Freight Train Profit Sharing incentive potential. Qualified candidates may have Level 2 NDT certifications (VT, MT, UT, PT) per SNT-TC-1A, a welding background, and

Qualifications

• Preferred candidates will be certified to Level 2 qualifications in accordance with the ASNT SNT-TC-1A in VT, MT, UT, PT and AWS CWI.
• Welding background preferred. Must take and pass practical examinations as condition of employment.
• Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Experience interpreting codes, standards, and specifications to designate and apply examinations methods.

Responsibilities

• Determine test equipment settings according to material type, thickness, and distance from equipment.
• Set up equipment to perform tests and conduct tests on parts per established procedures.
• Apply cleaners, penetrants, developers, and couplant to parts.
• Conduct visual, penetrant, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle tests on metal parts to verify nondestructive standards.
• Mark tested parts to indicate conformity and defects for accept/reject decisions.
• Prepare reports outlining findings and conclusions; initiate accept/reject decisions when warranted.
• Assist in monitoring and auditing weld procedures; ensure proper fit-up and in-process quality.
