Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret customer specifications/drawings/prints.
• Ability to use measuring instruments including dial calipers, dial micrometers, and light meter.
• Awareness of calibration certification of equipment.
• Must follow safety policies of location.
• Read and understand internal procedures and policies.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Team oriented with continuous improvement.
• Basic computer skills to learn new screens/reports.

Responsibilities

• Sprays, brushes, or dips part in liquid penetrant.
• Allow penetrant to dwell on parts for specified period.
• Performs penetrant final rinse with water spray.
• Places parts in development tank for allotted time.
• Evaluates parts under UV light for cracks/defects under supervision of NDT level 2/3.
• Post penetrant cleaning of parts before forwarding to next process.
• Accurately records required information in customer log books.
• Handle and manage hazardous waste in work area.
• Willing to work overtime as necessary.
• Attendance is essential.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
• Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret customer specifications/drawings/prints/etc
• Ability to use measuring instruments including but not limited to dial calipers, dial micrometers, and light meter.
• Awareness of calibration certification of equipment.
• Must be able to comply with specific safety policies of the location and area.

• Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.
• Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
• Basic Computer Skills - able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Annual eye exam is required.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Annual baseline hearing test is required.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Annual eye exam is required.
• Basic Computer Skills- able to learn new screens, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance

Required Experience and Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Requires level II training certification to work independently
