Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks an NDT Manager – Responsible Level III to lead the NDT team, act as Certifying Authority, and scale NDT capabilities from SPARC manufacturing to the ARC fleet.

You will supervise technicians, interface with EHS Radiation Safety, project managers, and design teams to ensure safe, compliant radiography and exams while maintaining qualification programs and training.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Level III certification in UT/PAUT and RT (ASNT, NAS 410, or ISO 9712).
• 12+ years of NDT experience on critical components.
• Hands-on experience with industrial radiography (CR/DR).
• Strong knowledge of ASME and ASTM NDT standards.
• Experience building/leading an NDT team.
• Familiarity with PAUT, encoded scanning, TFM/FMC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain organizational NDT capabilities scaling from SPARC to ARC fleet.
• Partner with EHS Radiation Safety for compliant radiography operations.
• Act as Responsible Level III and Certifying Authority for NDT personnel.
• Oversee NDT execution across manufacturing, construction, and vendor sites.
• Audit technicians to ensure work instructions meet engineering requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with NDT engineering to train staff on new procedures and standards.
• Establish training/qualification frameworks and provide ongoing support.
